Supports forwarding of both IPv4 and IPv6 traffic (both Unicast & Multicast).

Supports rich set of L2 switching features that include Bridging, Spanning Tree, Tunneling, VPLS,

Layer2 VPN, Point 2 Multipoint VPN, multicast VPN, VLAN configuration & Translation, LAG/LACP, Traffic Mirroring (Port/VLAN) and QOS.

Also supports static routing for both IPv4 and IPv6.

Supports other protocols/features like NTP

Server/Client, DNS Server/Relay, DHCP

Server/Relay/Client, DHCP Snooping and Proxy ARP.

Security

Support access control lists (ACLs) to filter traffic based on parameters, per-user authentication,authorization and accounting.

It provides robust security with port-based authentication, control plane protection, and support for external AAA databases.

Supports TACAS/Radius-based Authentication (802.1X), Port Security and IP Source guard.
